Baking with MP, a New Blog Series!

I love to bake and it’s insane that I’ve never written a post on here about baking! It’s one of my favorite things to do. It helps me when I have anxiety to have something else to focus on, I love baking for fun, for holidays, pretty much anytime!

Since being diagnosed with Celiac disease a few years ago, it’s been even more of an adventure. There are a lot of recipes I’ve found on Pinterest that were easy just to make gluten free by changing regular flour to gluten free 1 for 1 flour. But sometimes recipes aren’t easy to switch.

Currently, I’ve been watching a lot of baking shows and those always make me want to bake everything. Especially The Great British Bake-off! So I decided to look up a baking book specifically for gluten free items and I found one and let me tell you just flipping through it had me so excited! It felt like I was going to be able to bake all the fun things I’ve seen in shows, a layer cake, pies, tarts, scones, etc. but gluten free and get to try out different flours and methods.

I feel so professional!

One thing that had me excited is that the recipes had all the ingredients listed by cups and such but also weighed out which I know is a more precise way to bake.

My goal is to make everything in the book, or at least the things I know well get eaten by me, friends, and family (there’s rhubarb pie in there which feels very British Bake Off but I’m not sure if anyone I know would eat it!) and I figured since I haven’t had any outfits to post or sports to talk about, I would share all the mishaps and successes as a blog series on here!

Below is the baking book I’ll be going by, I will say not only are the recipes fairly simple, there’s a ton of tips and tutorials in the book, as well as an explanation of items used, substitutes and tools used. It’s overall a really good source for gluten free baking. I also included a few things I picked up while they were on sale that I knew I would use early on in this baking series!
