Makeup that Survives 110 degrees

A couple of weekends ago it was hotter than hot here in North Texas. I was one of the crazies that braved the 113 degree heat to go up to the Rangers ballpark to get an Elvis Andrus bobblehead. And while I was only outside for maybe an hour (I got that bobble and then I left, there was no way I would've survived until the game and through it) I was pleasantly surprised with how my makeup held up.

Normally when it's that hot, I don't even bother with makeup because it'll just melt off anyway. However, there are days where I'm like 'you know what? If I have to look a my face in the mirror, I want to look a little better!" So I put on some quick makeup and since it held up, didn't melt off my face, or breakup, I wanted to share what I did!

I start with Colleen Rothchild daily defense lightweight fluid sunscreen before putting on primer.

My skin goes back an forth between being oily and dry and lately it's been staying dry. So because of that I've started using Laura Mercier hydrating primer and it's been my absolute favorite, something I've repurchased multiple times.

Usually in the summer, I go back to It Cosmetics CC cream. I go back and forth on this foundation because for me, it's definitely not as full coverage as I've seen on other people and their lightest shade isn't exactly light enough for me. Sometimes the foundation looks amazing and then other times I regret trying it again. But I used this on that 113 degree day and it was perfect! I apply it with a damp makeup sponge.

I also swear by the Tarte shape tape concealer, I've repurchased it multiple times and nothing else has compared. I use it under my eyes and any problem areas. Then using the damp makeup sponge, I dip it into the It Cosmetics powder, and sweep it under my eyes and the rest of my face. I wouldn't call this baking since I don't let it sit there for long. But I have found that doing this and then blending it in with a powder brush has really changed how my makeup looks and how long it lasts.

After that I apply Milani blush in Bella Bellini, my favorite shade! Then a quick sweep of Urban Decay eyeshadow in sin and I fill in my eyebrows with Maybelline Total Temptation brow definer in 305 soft brown. Since my eyelashes are so light, I curl them and apply mascara, Maybelline total temptation waterproof mascara.

Lastly I set my makeup with Urban Decay  Chill setting spray. I've used this for a while and repurchased it once but I can't say it's the best one even though it is marketed for dry skin since it's hydrating but I do think it definitely makes a difference when I use it.
