MAKEUP MADNESS
originally posted March 8, 2016
I wanted to do a post like this since I started my blog and was unsure about it and then over the weekend I just decided to go for it.
I love watching makeup tutorials and hauls on YouTube and so I decided, why not talk about the makeup I wear everyday? I'm a creature of habit so this is basically the same makeup I use anytime I decide to put makeup on, the only thing that really changes is the eyeshadow, but even then I'll use the same one color for weeks!
FACE
First, the face. I know some people start with their eyes, but to me it just makes sense to start with the face. This foundation is my favorite! This is probably my 4th tube of it, it's that good. Usually I use a buffing brush to apply my foundation, but this Real techniques sponge (both pictured below)also helps apply the makeup AMAZINGLY! The only concealer I really use is this under eye concealer (in the brightening shade because it's pale enough for me). I have yet to find a concealer I like for
blemishes. This e.l.f. eye shadow primer is so good and only two dollars. Also pictured above is the L'Oreal eye brow pencil (I have to use an eyebrow pencil otherwise it's like I don't even have them), however I just tried the Nyx micro brow pencil and I think I prefer it more. But you know, options are good too.
Blush is something I absolutely love! I think I currently have five different blushes sitting on my dresses, but like I
said I'm a creature of habit and tend to reach for the same one for weeks at a time. Currently loving this matte blush from Milani in the shade delizioso pink. (Dolce pink and tea rose in the rose powder blushes, also really pretty.) Favorite brushes for blush are the Sigma brush (on the right) and the It Cosmetics brush (on the left, also really good for foundation.)
(this EcoTools blush brush is also a favorite!)
EYES
isn't a harsh line. The next two steps never change. I use black liner on the top lashline, L'Oreal Lineur intense; and brown liner on the bottom water line using Rimmel ScandalEyes liner. I also blend some of the shadow on my bottom lash line with this brush, that way the bottom liner isn't so harsh. Always curl my lashes and use waterproof mascara because otherwise my lashes just go completely straight and who wants that? Top three mascaras:L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes, L'Oreal Extra Volume, and CoverGirl Super Sizer.
LIPS
I have plenty of lipsticks, and I love them but I rarely reach for them. Anything that I have to reapply or worry about getting on things or transferring, just makes me not reach for them often. So mainly I just reach for chap stick. My lips get really dry so sometimes I just use (ironically really well named) My Favorite Night Balm. It's seriously the best stuff ever. Other days I'll layer the baby lips lip balm with the glossy balm in babydoll (didn't realize how many L'Oreal products I used, oops!?).
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Obviously I really love Real techniques brushes, they're so good and not that expensive. It's worth a mention that the Powder brush is good for setting powders or ever bronzers. The setting brush is great for setting under eye concealer, or applying highlighter. Or the e.l.f. blush brush is also good for highlighter and setting. I haven't used the bronzers in the Nyx Highlight & Contour Palette but I love the top
two shades on the left. The first one is a great highlight and the second color is a good setting powder (I've also used it all over my eyelids on days I don't feel like applying shadow).
And then that's that and I can happily look in mirrors all day and then regret putting it all on at 10pm when I have to take it all off. Seriously taking makeup off is the worst part of even putting makeup on.
P.S. I don't use setting sprays except in the late spring/summer when it's hot and I'm taking blog pictures outside but the L'Oreal Makeup Extender Setting Spray is a good choice.
